Is time the issue?
Recently elected chair of the British Dental Association's (BDA's) Principal Executive Committee, Dr Martin Fallowfield, has said that the key to good communication between dentists and patients is adequate time being available.
As a Dentist, do you agree?
Speaking at the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Dentistry's 2012 Summer Reception, he emphasised to parliamentarians the importance of time in enabling practitioners to communicate with patients in a way that enhances preventive care and improves health outcomes.
This comes at the same times as the latest Office of Fair Trading report. This has claimed that patients have insufficient information to make valid decisions about their dental treatment. So is time the issue here?
