What is in your painkiller?

According to Spink PR, nearly a quarter of patients who brought a painkiller in the past 12 months did not know the difference between paracetamol, ibuprofen and codeine.
More than half of those in the survey reported that they had never asked pharmacist for advice about the most appropriate type of pain killer for a specific pain, though 44 per cent said they would use the same type of painkiller regardless of the type of pain they had.
Of the pharmacists surveyed, 75 per cent said they would not recommend a co-dose to a customer. The same number said they would recommend a codeine combination if a customer came to them complaining of mild to moderate pain that had not been managed by a single pain killer.
