Youth Jobless Figures
The Office for National Statistics has shown a rise in the number of people now out of work which has increased by 49,000 to 2.5 million in the 3 months to November last year.
Kevin Green, the REC’s Chief Executive has commented on this report,
“ What is concerning about the figures is the growth of 32,000 in the number of 16 to 24 year olds not in work, hitting an all time high of 951,000. With the Government declaring itself pro business, pro growth and pro jobs it should make this a top priority for the sake of long term health, wealth and success of the UK economy.”
