This job posting is for an Optical Consultant & Front of House role at a leading independent optician based in Stow-on-the-Wold. The role requires experience in the optical industry, and the key focus is on providing an exceptional customer experience in both clinical and retail settings. As a first point of contact for patients, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily operations, handling customer queries, and ensuring the practice is welcoming and well-organized.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a welcoming, front-of-house service, managing customer interaction from arrival to departure.
• Maintain the practice’s inviting and professional ambiance, including appearance and background music.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring high standards of service and efficiency.
• Work closely with the practice manager to foster a positive team environment.
• Handle diary management, patient appointments, and retail sales when necessary.
• Serve as a liaison between customers and the clinical team, contributing to a smooth flow of operations.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Optical dispensing experience
• Experience with Optix software (desirable but not essential).
• Strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, relaxed, yet busy environment.
• Attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot issues.

Personal Traits:

• Friendly, outgoing, with excellent communication skills.
• A calm demeanor under pressure.
• Interest in people, with the ability to engage customers and build rapport.

• Starting pay from £25,000 annually, with bonuses based on performance.
