Flame Health Pharmacy are seeking a Pharmacist Manager in the Brighton area, on behalf of a dynamic, growing company and a wholly owned subsidiary of an NHS Trust.

The company was established in 2014 in order to improve the quality of services offered to patients. Initially focused on outpatient pharmacy dispensing, the company has added a number of other service lines to its portfolio, including vaccination services and an imminent travel clinic, and provides Homecare services to patients.

It is about to open its second site, providing a hub for the operation of non-patient facing services, increasing capacity on its main site in Brighton to expand its range of dispensing services. It has an ambitious 5-year view which includes a business development plan focused on winning contracts for other services and locations within NHS Trusts and elsewhere.

They are looking for an outstanding Lead Dispensary Pharmacist that can evidence excellent leadership, people and communication skills to run their flagship pharmacy at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. They have an automated robot and a prescription tracking system to help them provide a high quality, efficient service to their patients.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a busy community (or outpatient) pharmacy and have significant experience in leading, developing and managing a team and delegating tasks across a dispensary team that includes: other pharmacists, ACT’s, Pharmacy Technicians, Dispensers and Counter Assistants.

You will be patient-centred, have a sound clinical knowledge and be a real ‘people person’, but at the same time have an acute attention to detail and be driven by reaching targets and deadlines and striving to provide the best possible service to their patients. Leading the dispensary will involve managing a variety of workloads, delegating tasks where appropriate, and being a positive role model to the rest of the team whilst maintaining or exceeding your key performance indicators set as a marker of the service provided.

The ideal person also needs to be a good values match for their NHS shareholder and their unwavering commitment to delivering services which maximise patient benefit and deliver a high-quality experience.
The role would be based in Brighton, with a salary range of £40-49k and up to 10% available as a bonus through the performance-related pay scheme. A good benefits package including pension and holiday entitlement is also available. The right person would work alongside the Superintendent Pharmacist in continuously coming up with new ways or working or service improvements that can be adopted across the Company.
