National Account Manager - Optical (Midlands/South of the UK)

Salary: Starting at £30,000-£35,000 Significant OTE potential

Our Client are looking for an individual with commercial flare and a confident personality to join our team as a National Account Manager in their Optical division. This is a demanding role which will require drive, enthusiasm and tenacity as well as skills of negotiation, sales and commercial awareness.

This role may suit an experienced sales person or someone with knowledge of the Optical industry who is keen to start a career in Sales.

Our client are a highly successful and long established leading supplier to Opticians, Ophthalmologists and Laboratories in the UK and Ireland. The team of highly trained experts sell an extensive range of top quality instruments and machines that encapsulate the latest innovation in technology.

Their customers expect great service and they are focused on providing an exceptional product combined with a premium level of aftercare. To make that happen their people need to be a little bit different: have a genuine passion for the industry and a desire to deliver.

A key part of this role is collaborating with other functions in the business; the ideal candidate will demonstrate solid team working skills.

Daily duties will include:

  • Developing, building and maintaining long term relationships with existing customers in the Optical industry.
  • Liaising and meeting with customers and potential customers.
  • Identifying, securing and developing new accounts.
  • Travelling to optical practices, hospitals and other venues to offer sales advice, training and support.
  • Supporting clients with equipment purchase planning, helping them find new revenue streams and getting the most out of the products they purchase from us.
  • Working to set targets to achieve an overall monthly/yearly targets.

You will be out on the road meeting your customers so you will need to be prepared to travel the South of England. It is essential that all applicants hold a full driving license, and are prepared from time to time to stay away from home overnight.

The hours of work are 40 hours per week. Flexibility to attend events at evenings and weekends on occasion is required.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Highly motivated, results driven personality - reliable, enthusiastic and committed to the role.
  • Capable of working under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • An enthusiasm for technology; knowledge of company products and services.
  • Confident in dealing with customers in a field based environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills, including able to negotiate and present at all levels.
  • IT competent with Microsoft related packages.
